Failure to hold on is costly........
The Classics took the lead after three minutes when Hans Erker sent a left wing cross cum shot into the heart of the Peace Arch penalty area. The cross eluded the goalkeeper, ex Classics player Ray Betts, who could only parry the ball into his own net. It was just the start the Classics wanted and they went two up after 18 minutes when a 40 yard rocket from Alfie Deglan lobbed over the goalie and into the top right of the net.
Peace Arch pulled one back after Garry Hackel failed to keep out the effort. Billy Ranger restored the two goal lead after he scored from close in but Peace Arch struck again to make it 3-2 at the half time stage.
The Classics seemed to tire as the second half wore on and Peace Arch struck twice in the second half to secure a win. A draw would have been a fair result on the basis of chances but Peace Arch have a habit of upsetting the Classics in their encounters. The result leaves the Classics still looking for their first win of the season.
